Own
fewer objects -- to simplify your life. There's
a natural tendency to believe that possessing "more
things" will make us happy.
But the things we own also take energy and resources.
Money must be spent buying and maintaining them.
Best:
Take an inventory of all your possessions. Identify
those that truly add value to your life and give you
pleasure and those that don't. Then rid yourself of
those that cost more in time, trouble or money to maintain
than they are worth.
How:
Sell
them in a yard sale... auction them over the Internet
at a site like eBay... donate them to charity... give
them to family or friends.
As
you simplify your life and reduce the demands placed
on you as a result of owning so many things, you may
also raise cash, get a tax deduction and secure the
goodwill of family members and friends.
